News - April 2012

22nd April

Check out the latest NDC team selections for Round One, here.

19th April

The season got off to a slow start this year with the numbers down on last year at the Opening Interclub round.

Scores on the new targets are also down a little from last year. It is too early to decide whether it is the shooters or the targets are harder !!

Latest Interclub results are now posted here.

1st April

Welcome to the official start of the new 2012 season. For a number of shooters, it marks the change from shooting 50m Outdoors to 20 and 25 yard Indoor shooting.

A big change for many of us in 2012  is the adoption of new targets. These are meant to be harder to score as well, so it will be interesting to see what scores are posted. Don't despair if you scores are lower, you will not be alone Laughing Details of how to gauge the shot are shown here.

Remember, all non-practice scoress from today on count to your annual grading.

The first TSA interclub for 2012 will be on the 11th April hosted by Auckland SRC. Let's see a great turnout next week.

Our Secretary has been busy over the last couple of months preparing for Auckland to hosted the Teams of Ten in May. Please check the recent Newsletters, if you have not already seen them. It's great to see the volunteers stepping forward. I'm sure if you haven't already, Rob will find a job for you.

Below are some links to the Newsletters and some useful start-of-the-year information.

Ardmore Shooting Complex Update
Great news !!! Pub Charities have made a significant donation to NZ Shooting Academy to progress work on the Ardmore II Resource Consent.

WAIKATO OUTDOOR CLUB
You may wonder why we are reporting on the Waikato Outdoor Club – well for most of the Auckland shooters who have been shooting 50m outdoor this summer we have joined the Waikato Outdoor Club shooting at the Tokoroa range. We have been heading to club days each month as well as some of the other competitions over the summer months. The Waikato Club has managed to arrange a permanent membership of the Tokoroa complex and have secured dates throughout summer and also the winter season for club days. We are using target changers for the club days and are getting a full detail of about 20 shooters each day. If anyone is interested in coming along contact Nick or Julie at Howick and we can give you all the details.
