CompetitonsTarget shooting is both a social and competitive sport. Everyone may choose their own level of activity.
There are three primary disciples:
For a number of shooters, there are many competitions that will provide a real challenge, ranging from the the Club level up to National and International level. These competitions include both individual and team options. Shooters at all levels may be selected to represent the Auckland association.
The main teams competitions available include:
- Interclub
- Inter Association
- National District Championship (NDC)
- Teams of Tens (for North Island Provincial Teams)
Individual competition is available via the numerous Open Championships that are held throughout the year. The Auckland and Waikato Associations have combined a number of Open Championships, which comprise the Big 7 championship.
